When God created man, He said “Let us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness . . .” (Genesis 1:26). Therefore, we should be like God. We were designed to be like God. He goes on in the same verse to say that we were given “dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the Earth and every creeping thing that creeps on the Earth.” That was God’s intention when He created man and we know that He did because in verse 27 of the first chapter of Genesis we read, “So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him, male and female He created them.”
So what went wrong? Why are we so different from the image of God? Why would Jesus, the Christ, the One sent by God, His only begotten Son be rejected by man on earth? Why are we in such a state today that we need to be reminded that God created us in His image and how after all this time (since He first created man) did we get so far from the image He created?
God is love. I believe that what we have in our current global system is far from love. When man (through Adam) was deceived and dominion was taken from man and given to Satan, things went far south. God wants us in His image and Satan wants desperately to show God that mankind is incapable of being in God’s image. He is a Liar and will continually do what liars do best, lie.
In reading all of the Old Testament of the Bible, you will find so many times and ways that God gave mankind a way out of destruction and deceit. We see how much mercy He has for man and yet, most of mankind would always go back to their old ways and allow themselves to be lied to and used by demonic forces in an attempt for Satan to keep control. But, God had a master plan from the very beginning of our time on Earth.
Jesus, the Christ, was sent as a Savior to once again give us everlasting life and not only in Heaven but here on earth as well. He says in His Word that Jesus was sent not to condemn the world but that through Jesus, the world might be saved through Him. All it takes for us now is to believe that Jesus was sent to us from God in the flesh as His begotten Son and we will not be condemned BUT, if people do not believe, they are condemned already because they don’t believe in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (John 3: 16-18)
Once you accept and believe that Jesus is the Christ, God’s only begotten Son, sent by God to save the world, the Spirit of God can begin to dwell within you giving you wisdom, knowledge and understanding of Who He is and how He created you to be in His image. Your inner man becomes renewed day by day as you get to know Him and His love for you since the day you were first created.
God wants you to come back and be a son (male or female) to Him. He wants you to be a peacemaker. When Jesus was explaining His role of coming to Earth for salvation, He warned that those who are condemned do not believe in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation: That light came into the world and men loved their darkness rather than light (and unfortunately still do) because their deeds are evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.
What is exceptionally shameful today is that even when evil doings and crooked ways are exposed today, the community as a whole has become immune to the failures and accept what evil people are hoping: that people will just shrug it off and believe this is the way of the world. Haves will have and have nots will not. They will be given proof and know something is a lie but just say “it is what it is” or choose to believe some sort of conspiracy theory that allows the lie to create more grief and havoc.
But, there is good news and that is that God made a promise to us that He sent His only begotten Son to save us that we may have eternal and everlasting life. We are now a part of the body of Christ and still individually a member. Through His baptism, you receive the Spirit just as Jesus received the Spirit. We are now sons of God and as sons of God, we are called to be peacemakers. We are to be the light that goes into the world and knows how the Liar operates and bring more people into the realization of what God wants for them. We don’t do this out of hate but instead out of Love as God is Love.
Peacemaker: Matthew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the sons of God
